I google TPkd drivers and attempt to install them, but during installation the Windows Installer window pops up, which officially means I cannot install these drivers. No biggie, cuz I can always just d/l the drivers.
#Tpkd driver windows 10 pro#
I installed the Pro Tools LE 8.0 disc, and had the MBox plugged in properly, but when I load up Pro Tools, I get an error, 'This software requires installation of device driver TPkd and a reboot before running. The driver can be started or stopped from Services in the Control Panel or by other programs. However it's actually made it so I can't use MSN on my computer (Windows Installer will pop up at some point during installation, and cause it all to crash), and in the more relevant case, made it so I can't use my newly purchased Pro Tools LE 8.0/Mbox 2 Mini. TPkd.sys is located in the C:WindowsSystem32drivers folder.

I never really had any problems with this, as it never really got in my way. As in, a window labelled 'Windows Installer' will open, saying 'Preparing to Install.', but it will never manage to get past this part. However, when I brought it back home, I noticed that Windows Installer windows (for things like when you install MSN, etc), never seem to 'finish loading'. About a year ago or so, I got a virus on my computer that made it so when you turn it on, it would automatically reboot at some point before reaching the login screen, and this was super annoying so I took it in to get fixed, and it did. So, basically, to help you understand this problem, I'll have to give you a bit of a backstory.
